Here is a post I found on a Spa website several years ago. It really caught my attention and I admire this woman - putting herself “out there” so assertively. If I had a rather large spa and needed someone to not just run it, but make it flow smoothly - she would certainly get an interview.
How do you find a job? Are you bold enough to try something different and stand out?
Here’s what she wrote…..(and no, I do not know this person)
“Sharpest tool in the shed seeks to combine talent, expertise and proven track record with an innovative industry leader dedicated to an unparalleled customer service experience Perhaps you are seeking to enhance or recreate your training program to include the vital ingredients needed to empower, support and motivate your employees to produce. Perhaps you are seeking to provide your clients with the best possible experience so they in turn, sing your praises and refer other clients. Perhaps, you may be an entrepreneur or spa owner with a lot of cash flow but no clear cut direction. Heck, you may even be the VP of Spa Operations for a five star resort hotel who needs and ace in the hole but are surrounded by yes-men. In short, I can provide sales and customer service training programs (from creation to execution), or yearly marketing plans (from creation to execution). Prefer to work on a per project basis, but would consider working for the man for the right opportunity. Some highlights and background: A flawless complexion that would give an Ivory Girl a run for her money (makes a great advertisement, ” I look this good, you can too!? McGyver-like qualities that enable me to travel effortlessly, problem solve, self-entertain, read a map, pay a toll and apply lip liner all at the same time! Stamina. Healthy as a horse and take my vitamins (although I can toss back a whiskey with the best of them) Well read and well traveled. Able to appreciate, entertain and ingratiate myself equally with southern belles, foreign diplomats, soccer moms and metrosexuals. No Kids. (No PTA meetings, no teacher work days, no cookies to bake or Girl Scout meetings to attend) *Moonlights as a comedienne. Well, not really, but I have a healthy dose of self confidence and sense of humor so that I don’t take myself too seriously and am not pre-occupied with a sunspot, fine line or trying to get a doctor to marry me The last 5 books I read: Small Is The New Big by Seth Godin, The Psychology Of Persuasion by Robert Cialdini, Marketing Secrets of a Marketing Genius by: Jay Abraham, Wealth Attraction For Entrepreneurs by: Dan Kennedy If you are seeking a passionate, experienced trailblazer that possesses the elusive X factor to bring aboard to be a shining light in a sea of mediocrity, then look no further and don’t let the Bravado scare you; I will provide you with 10 years worth of happy testimonials from previous spa owners, spa directors and vendors.”
This should give you a bit of inspiration when you are looking for a job. Put yourself out there!! Wow! I am sure she is employed now!
